Sheriff's Office Makes Arrest in Death of Tina Marie Bass

On Wednesday, June 27, 2007, investigators with the Sampson County Sheriff's Office arrested Perry Arthur Bass for the murder of his wife, Tina Marie Bass. Tina Marie Bass was transported to Sampson Regional Medical Center during the early morning hours of August 3, 2005, by ambulance. Ms. Bass later died at Sampson Regional Medical Center on August 03, 2005. The suspicious circumstances surrounding Ms. Bass' death initiated a criminal investigation by the Sampson County Sheriff's Office. Investigators spent months processing evidence and conducting interviews, which ultimately led to the arrest of Mr. Bass.

Mr. Bass, a forty-eight year old white male of 855 Lockamy Road, Clinton, NC was charged with one count of Murder. He was placed in the Sampson County Detention Center without the privilege of bond. The case is still under investigation. Anyone with information that would be beneficial in the investigation is encouraged to contact the Sampson County Sheriff's Office.
